INTAN JAYA - Under the operational leadership of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad continues its mission to safeguard the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border while fostering strong relationships with local communities in Papua Tengah Province. On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, the Soldiers from Koper Post, led by Second Lieutenant Alvinta Sembiring, creatively blended their duty of security with education by sharing National Insights with the children of Mamba Village in Sugapa District.
The Soldiers, equipped with specially prepared lesson materials, embraced the opportunity to educate and inspire the children who passed by the Post. Their approach was not only professional but also deeply engaging, blending humor and warmth with essential lessons in national pride.
When a group of children from Mamba Village approached the Post, they were met with smiles and open arms. The Soldiers shared stories, jokes, and lessons about Indonesia’s rich heritage and the importance of unity. Among the children, Mario Sondegau expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Stay motivated, Papuan Children. Long live TNI!”
To further brighten the moment, the Soldiers distributed food to the children, who responded with uncontainable joy. The simple gesture of kindness created an atmosphere of happiness, underscoring the Task Forces' role as protectors and partners in the community.
Commander of the Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, emphasized the critical role of inclusive social communication in the success of their mission. “Engaging with the community, especially the younger generation, is vital in fostering unity and supporting the development of Papua, ” he stated.
The importance of this initiative was echoed by Major General Lucky Avianto, Commanding General of HABEMA. He praised the Task Forces' efforts, stating: “The 509 Task Forces' commitment to sharing National Insights reflects TNI's dedication to inclusive communication and its unwavering support for accelerating development in the Papua region.”
The Habema's Smart Papua Initiative has once again highlighted the power of education and communication in creating lasting bonds between the Indonesian Armed Forces and the communities they serve. By nurturing the younger generation, the Soldiers not only protect but also inspire, paving the way for a future filled with hope, unity, and progress.
